How can you define something so indefinable? What is love? How do you know if you’re actually in love? Is it possible to think you’re in love but not be? Is there a way to measure love? What does love mean? Can a 16 year old be in love? Is it possible for teenagers to be in love? Are there different degrees of love? Can you love more than one person equally? Is it possible to never be in love your entire life? Can you love twice? Or more than twice? Can you fall out of love? If you do, was it real love to begin with?

I have so many questions about love that are virtually impossible to be accurately answered because there is no right or wrong answer to these questions. Everything about love is subjective because it's just an opinion. I’m sure there have been COUNTLESS studies about love, but I don’t know how you can explain something as complex and untouchable as love. Everyone has different opinions on love, but nobody can really know for sure.

It kills me that there is no definite answer to these questions. I am one of those people who needs to have everything answered, but this is something I can’t get a definite answer to. Rgh. "I just have to feel it," yes, I know that. But I just don’t know what love is anymore. I had a pretty good idea about what love was with my last boyfriend. I thought for sure I loved him, but after a little under 6 months I didn’t have the same feelings for him anymore. So if it really was love, how did it go away again? Isn’t real love supposed to be eternal?

Now with my current boyfriend, I have the same exact feelings that I had with my last boyfriend but even more. I feel stronger for Chris than I've felt with any other guy before. But I'm just afraid that if I admit to myself that I'm in love with him/tell him I love him, that it'll go away one day like it did with Dan (my first boyfriend). Right now I can never see things ending with Chris (even things that should have split us apart already have just made us stronger and stronger), I love spending time with him, and I love everything about him, I'm just hesitant about admitting I love him in case that's not true. It feels true to me but I would hate to be proven wrong.

I know there’s no rush, but I just really want to figure this out. I just want to find my own definition of love so my mind can rest. I know I’m 16 and there’s no need to say “I Love You” at such a young age, but I also want to be able to know what love is (or make my own definition of it) so that when it comes knocking at my door I won’t pass it up.

I desperately need opinions/theories/feedback on this - if you have anything that could help me please When we love someone a lot of times the best way to show it is to not only let them use their own wings to fly, but is also to encourage them to fly as well. Loving someone isn't about keeping them all to yourself so that the world isn't able to see their light shine bright, but is instead holding them up as a candle to the world to create more light. Seeing someone that you love happy will make one feel a thousand times more fulfilled than them being happy themselves alone.

You will quickly realize how important it is that when you are in a relationship with someone, seeing them happy makes you just as happy, while seeing them sad or angry will also affect you in those ways. Positive energy produces positive energy, while negative energy produces the opposite.

Refusing to be in a place with someone that you don't necessarily want to be with them in life can lead to hurting someone worse later on by doing the things that one is actually interested in doing, and being with the people that one is actually interested in being with. Remember that being the pain that someone remembers may not always work out best for you, and sometimes it is better for a couple to go their separate ways while they are still able to if they know in their hearts their isnt to be much of a future involved.
